TENSION-FREE, SUPPLE SHOULDERS
 
In Feldenkrais we explore patterns of movement that are fundamental to all movement (reaching, turning, weight-shifting for example) and relate to ordinary functions of everyday life. We learn that all of these movements involve our whole self and that the patterns we develop can be restrictive, unconscious and long-established. As we proceed through the course you'll become aware of your own unique habits of movement and constriction and will experience the changes and improvements of Feldenkrais in a dramatic way after each class but also in subtle, pervasive ways in everyday life. So for example, you might find that getting in or out of a car is different, or working at your computer has become a pleasant, pain-free experience, or that knitting is easier and quicker, your shoulder stands in yoga will be exponentially easier, and so on. In fact, any movement that relates to the use of your arms, hands and fingers will be transformed as your shoulders loosen and relax. Not only that but you'll feel more creative, sleep better and feel easier and more confident in your body. And you'll finish the course with the knowledge to maintain these results!
 
Feldenkrais is a process of guided self-discovery. Whether you're recovering from injury, coping with chronic pain, an insomniac, a triathlete, a Pilates connoisseur, a dancer, or a Yogi with no history of back pain, as a Being Who Moves you can benefit from the Feldenkrais Method.
